# Mortal Shell 2 Platinum Trophy Guide & 100% Achievement Roadmap • 2UpSkill

Mortal Shell II is not the kind of game I would recommend approaching with a trophy checklist open on a second monitor from the first minute. Cold Symmetry has made the sequel much bigger, meaner, and far more demanding than the original, and there is something genuinely satisfying about getting lost in its world before worrying about completion percentages.
That said, if you’re chasing the Mortal Shell 2 Platinum Trophy on PS5 or aiming for 100% achievements on Steam and Xbox Series X/S, you need a plan. The sequel’s open-world structure, Shell Memory system, missable objectives, collectibles, and brutal no-Shell requirements can turn a relaxed first playthrough into a very long cleanup job.
Mortal Shell II officially launches worldwide on August 20, 2026 , while players with the Devout Edition received up to 72 hours of Advanced Access beginning August 17. After spending time with the game, my biggest piece of advice is simple: don’t try to do everything at once .
The Platinum is absolutely achievable, but it rewards preparation more than blind persistence.

## Mortal Shell 2 Platinum Trophy Roadmap At A Glance

The 7.5/10 difficulty rating feels fair to me. The collectible hunting isn’t particularly frightening, and most exploration trophies are manageable once you understand the map. The real problem is combat.
The traditional stamina bar is gone, which sounds like a quality-of-life improvement until you realize how aggressively the game now expects you to fight. Combat revolves around tempo, positioning, Posture management, blocks, executions, and knowing exactly when to disengage.
That changes the trophy hunt considerably.

## The Biggest Change: Combat Without Stamina

One of the first things returning players will notice is that Mortal Shell II doesn’t use the traditional stamina system .
Instead, combat is built around an aggressive rhythm and the dual-sided Posture mechanic. Attacks and perfectly timed blocks can build an enemy’s Posture meter. Once that meter reaches its threshold, you can trigger a devastating execution.
Executions aren’t just flashy finishing moves, either. Their invincibility frames can save you from attacks that would otherwise kill you.
This becomes particularly important during the no-Shell trophies.
My advice is to learn the Posture system properly during your first run. Don’t treat executions as simple damage tools. They are defensive resources too. Once that clicks, some encounters become much more manageable.

## Step One: Make Your First Playthrough Your Exploration Run

Your first campaign should be the comfortable one.
Well, as comfortable as Mortal Shell II gets.
The sequel replaces much of the original’s isolated structure with a sprawling interconnected world containing more than 60 dungeons and temples . There is a lot to see, and rushing through the main storyline means you’ll eventually have to return to many areas anyway.
During this playthrough, concentrate on exploration and building your collection.
Your main goals should include:
- Finding all 8 playable warrior Shells .
- Collecting all 4 primary weapon classes .
- Obtaining all 8 Sidearm Weapons .
- Hunting down the 75 Tarstones .
- Discovering Map Fragments and Beacons.
- Learning and using consumable items repeatedly to unlock their full properties and lore.
- Completing side quests before advancing too far into the story.
The Sidearm collection deserves special attention because Guns. Lots of Guns is one of those trophies that looks simple until you realize how easy it is to overlook one obscure weapon.
And yes, the name is ridiculous. I like it.

## Guns. Lots of Guns — All 8 Sidearms

To unlock Guns. Lots of Guns , you need all eight Sidearm Weapons.
The Shatterglass Blunderbuss is the one I’d personally put a giant warning marker next to. It is tied to the Lost Merchant questline, meaning players who naturally ignore side content can lock themselves out of the weapon until another run.
The Executioner’s Whisper is also easy to miss because it requires defeating an optional boss buried deep within the game’s dungeon network.
So don’t assume the main story will naturally lead you to every weapon.
It won’t.

## Stoned — Collect All 75 Tarstones

Stoned requires you to discover and loot all 75 Tarstones .
These collectibles are scattered across the wilderness, temples, and dungeons. Thankfully, the game’s collectible menu organizes them in a chronological index, which makes cleanup considerably less painful.
Still, this is one of those trophies where patience beats speed.
Check:
- Behind breakable barricades.
- Beneath stone staircases.
- Around cliff edges.
- Inside apparently dead-end dungeon rooms.
- Along lower paths that look like environmental decoration rather than actual routes.
I strongly recommend collecting Tarstones during your first exploration run instead of deliberately leaving them all for New Game+. The world is already huge. There is no reason to make yourself walk through every region twice just because you skipped an item sitting five meters off the main path.

## Watch Out For The Accessibility Helper Gear

This is probably the most important warning in the entire roadmap.
Do not equip the execution health-recovery assistance gear if you’re pursuing trophies on that save.
The game explicitly warns that these helper items can permanently flag the save slot and disable achievement progression.
I understand why the option exists. Mortal Shell II is brutal, and giving players a little extra survivability is hardly unreasonable. But if your goal is the Platinum, don’t experiment with it on your main trophy save.
Keep your standard setup.
It will hurt more.
It will also keep your trophy run alive.

## Mid Summer — The Secret Seasonal Encounter

Mid Summer is one of the stranger trophies in the game.
You’ll need to find a hidden stone dial in the central hub region, concealed behind thick briars. Activating it changes the area’s state into a special twilight version and starts a wave-defense encounter involving unique phantom enemies.
Survive the encounter and the trophy should pop.
The important part is knowing that the trigger isn’t sitting somewhere obvious in the main questline. If you’re simply following objectives, there’s a good chance you’ll walk straight past it.
This is exactly the kind of secret objective I would mark on a personal checklist during the first run.

## Step Two: New Game+ And Shell Memory Cleanup

Once you’ve finished the main story, start working toward New Game++ and use this stage as your cleanup run.
The big target here is the expanded Shell Memory system .
Think of Shell Memory as a passive progression tree for each of your eight warrior Shells. There aren’t enough resources in one normal playthrough to comfortably max everything, so trying to complete every tree immediately is unnecessary.
Fortunately, the game gives you a fantastic quality-of-life solution: spent points can be refunded and reassigned for free .
That completely changes the strategy.
Instead of trying to build every Shell simultaneously, farm a large stockpile of Glimpses from late-game bosses and higher-tier dungeons. Then visit the upgrade altar and concentrate everything on one Shell.
Max it.
Unlock its associated trophy.
Refund the points.
Move to the next Shell.
Repeat.
It sounds tedious, but it is much better than wasting resources trying to maintain eight fully developed builds at the same time.

## Flesh and Bone — Max Every Shell

The Flesh and Bone trophy asks you to fully unlock every Shell Memory node across all eight standard Shells.
The free respec mechanic is practically designed for this trophy.
Once you have enough Glimpses, completely develop one Shell, trigger the progression requirement, refund everything, and move to the next.
This is one of those achievements that looks terrifying on paper but becomes much easier once you understand that you don’t need eight permanent maxed-out characters.
Farm first. Respec second. Trophy third.
That’s the efficient way to do it.

## The Empty Vessel

The Empty Vessel requires you to defeat a major Temple Deity without ever inhabiting a Shell on that save.
This is essentially your introduction to the no-Shell challenge.
Your Harbinger vessel is considerably more vulnerable than the standard Shells, but it has one major advantage: an excellent pool of dodge invincibility frames.
You should start learning that movement immediately.
Don’t play the Harbinger like a weaker version of a normal Shell. It isn’t. The entire combat rhythm changes.
Use your i-frames.
Use Posture.
Use Harden intelligently.
And stop attacking when you don’t have a clean opening.
Greed is probably going to kill you more often than the bosses will.

## Step Three: The No-Shell Nightmare

This is where the Platinum gets serious.
The Harbinger of Nothing challenge requires a completely fresh save. From the opening moments until the end of the campaign, you cannot bond with or inhabit any of the eight warrior Shells.
For me, this is easily the trophy that defines the entire roadmap.
You are fragile. Your defensive options are limited. Regular enemies become things to avoid rather than enemies you desperately need to kill.
And that’s exactly how you should approach the run.
Run past them.
There is no trophy for clearing every hallway during this campaign.
The optimal strategy is to skip unnecessary combat, avoid optional dungeons, rush toward the main objectives, and reserve your concentration for the bosses.
Upgrade your weapon whenever possible. Learn boss patterns. Use Harden defensively instead of treating it as an offensive gimmick. Most importantly, learn when to dodge rather than panic.
The first time you attempt this run, it may feel absurd.
Eventually, it starts to feel like a completely different game.

## Forever Alone — The Ultimate Trophy

The big one is Forever Alone , the Gold Trophy for completing the entire main story without ever bonding with a warrior Shell.
This is not a trophy I’d recommend attempting casually.
Treat the run as its own challenge mode.
Don’t explore every corner. Don’t fight enemies just because they’re there. Don’t experiment with Shell interactions. Don’t let curiosity override your objective.
And if you’re using manual backups, keep them.
Accidentally interacting with a Shell or triggering the wrong progression state can potentially destroy an otherwise successful run. The safest approach is to treat every Shell pool, corpse, and suspicious interaction point as dangerous unless you’re absolutely certain it is irrelevant.
The most important skill here isn’t damage.
It’s discipline .

## Recommended Platinum Order

If I were doing the full Platinum from scratch, my route would look like this:
- First Playthrough: Explore the world, collect Shells, weapons, Tarstones, sidearm weapons, and complete side quests.
- Story Completion: Finish the main campaign while keeping an eye on missable objectives.
- New Game+: Farm Glimpses, finish collectibles, complete secret content, and prepare Shell Memory progression.
- Shell Memory Cleanup: Fully unlock each Shell using the free respec system.
- New Game++: Finish anything still missing from exploration or progression.
- Fresh Save: Begin the dedicated no-Shell campaign.
- Final Push: Complete the campaign for Forever Alone and clean up any remaining trophies.

## Final Thoughts

The Mortal Shell 2 Platinum Trophy is demanding, but I actually think the structure works surprisingly well.
The game doesn’t simply throw fifty-three random tasks at you. Its trophy list pushes you toward experiencing almost every important system: exploration, weapons, Shell progression, secret encounters, collectibles, and finally the game’s harshest combat challenge.
The first run is about learning.
The second is about optimization.
The final no-Shell run is about proving you actually learned something.
And that’s why I wouldn’t rush straight into trophy hunting. Mortal Shell II has enough atmosphere, strange corners, brutal encounters, and optional content that it deserves at least one playthrough where you’re not constantly checking a spreadsheet.
Just keep track of the missables.
Because discovering that you’re missing one sidearm after forty hours is not a fun surprise.
For players willing to put in the work, though, the Platinum should be one of those completions that actually feels earned. The collectibles are manageable, the Shell Memory system can be exploited intelligently, and once you understand the combat, even the terrifying Forever Alone challenge starts looking less like an impossible wall and more like the final exam.
And honestly, that’s exactly what I want from a Soulslike Platinum.
Not easy. Not padded. Just demanding enough that the trophy icon means something.
