### Upgrading Tarstones in Mortal Shell 2

You can upgrade your Tarstones by giving Franz the Etching Needle, a quest item that expands the upgrade options of the Tarforge in the Marrow Keep. You need to spend coins for the Level 2 upgrade, but you also need to increase the experience of these Tarstones before you can upgrade them.
The Etching Needle can be looted from a chest right before fighting Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods Boss fight. When you see Ruk past the bridge, turn right to find a small section with a bone chest. Loot this chest to get the Etching Needles.
