## How to Parry in Mortal Shell 2

- Equip the Infinite Seal
- Parry Before an Attack Lands

### 1. Equip the Infinite Seal

The Infinite Seal is an equippable item that allows you to parry enemy attacks . It is different from the Untarnished Seal , which blocks attacks and executes perfect guards instead. Compared to the Untarnished Seal, the Infinite Seal encourages a high risk, high reward playstyle.
The Infinite Seal is obtained as a reward for completing Sester Genessa's tutorial on using the Untarnished Seal in the Marrow Keep.
How to Get Infinite Seal and Abilities

### 2. Parry Before an Attack Lands

Equip the Infinite Seal to make use of its parry ability. When confronting enemies, press L1 / LB (on PS5 or Xbox) or Q (on PC) to parry their attacks before they hit you . The wind-up animation has you perform a sweeping motion to parry the attack, which can easily miss if mistimed .

#### Timed Parries Build Up Enemy's Break Meter

Enemies have a break meter just below their health bar. With the Infinite Seal, parrying their attacks causes the meter to build up, which culminates in an opportunity to perform a riposte , a special move that deals more damage than a regular attack. When the break meter is full, enemies will be stunned for a while, indicated by a red dot .

## Best Parrying Tips

Parry Wind-Up Should Meet Enemy Strike Do Not Panic Parry When Enemy Moves Do Not Parry Red Glint Attacks Practice Parrying on Regular Enemies

### Parry Wind-Up Should Meet Enemy Strike

It is important to note that a successful parry requires the Infinite Seal to meet the enemy's attack halfway , instead of parrying when the enemy moves to attack or waiting for the strike to hit you. Watch the movement of the enemy's attack to gauge the point at which your parry will meet it at the middle.
The Infinite Seal's wind-up animation may take a while to get used to, and you may mistime your parries the first time around.

### Do Not Panic Parry When Enemy Moves

It is better to anticipate an enemy strike than to rely on reaction time to deflect it. If you mistime the enemy strike, you will leave yourself susceptible to the enemy's attacks. Observe the enemy first instead of parrying blindly. This is to make sure that even after mistiming a parry, you will not be hit by follow-up attacks, especially unblockable ones.

### Do Not Parry Red Glint Attacks

Not all attacks can be parried. Enemy attacks that glow with a red circle indicate that they cannot be blocked or parried . In combat, especially against bosses, watch out for the glinted attacks and prepare to parry or dodge out of the way. Choosing to risk a parry or evade safely can make the difference between winning or losing a battle.

### Practice Parrying on Regular Enemies

Practice mastering your parries with regular enemies to get used to the mechanic and the Infinite Seal's wind-up animation, as opposed to practicing against difficult enemies, like bosses. At the Marrow Keep, you can practice using the Infinite Seal with Sester Genessa .

## Is Using the Infinite Seal Worth It?

### Only For a Challenging Experience

The Infinite Seal is worth using if you are looking for a more challenging way to deflect enemy attacks and the accomplishment that comes with the risk. Generally, the Untarnished Seal is the better Seal as you can block and perform perfect guards to deplete your enemy's break meter. As opposed to the Infinity Seal, the Untarnished Seal is much safer .
