# All Mortal Shell 2 Side Quests – Guide and Rewards

## Introduction – Why do side quests?

In Mortal Shell 2, the main storyline is just the tip of the iceberg. As you explore the Void, the Ruins of Mammon, and other regions, you'll encounter a variety of characters, each with their own story and requests. Some quests take just a few minutes, while others span multiple stages and require travel between locations. But they all offer generous rewards: you'll earn rare shells, glimmers, valuable items, and, in the case of Khmyor, even access to a secret joke ending.
I've completed all of these chains and am ready to share my tried-and-true tactics, tips, and warnings. In this guide, I'll cover each of the seven main side quests in detail, from start to finish, so you don't miss out on any rewards or get stuck halfway through.

## 1. The Grisha cub is small but important

This quest can be started near the very beginning of the game, immediately after arriving in Mushroom Village. Find the hunting camp west of the first luminary in this area—it's located near the Sanctuary of Trials. The lead hunter stands at a table in the center of the camp. Talk to him to unlock his trading inventory—this is important, as he will disappear later.
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Don't buy a cage key —you won't need it. It's better to buy one from the hunter right away.g>Grisha's remains and 3 bottles of regular moonshine , while the merchant is still alive.
- Go to the cage with the Grisha cub and open it (you don't need a key - the cage is unlocked).
- Interact with the baby – it will give you a sheep-headed totem . But be careful: don't accidentally hit it with an attack, otherwise it will become hostile. If this happens, quickly retreat to the beacon, rest, and the aggression will reset.
- Rest at the luminary or reset the area in any way.
- Return to camp – you'll find all the hunters dead, and the cub standing next to the adult Grisha. They don't attack you.
- Talk to the cub again – he'll give you 1 Reflection and 1 Ventrius . This completes the quest. Now you can safely kill both monsters if you wish.
Tip: Don't miss this quest, as the Sheephead Totem will come in handy in other quests, and the Reflection reward is always useful.

## 2. Gorf and Hilga – a long story with frogs and drinks

This quest is one of the most extensive and multi-staged. It begins with Gorf , a huge frog you'll find in a depression near the Widow's Height luminary (not far from the local trial). When you first meet him, give him the fly agaric mushroom —you'll receive a bog pearl as a reward. This is just the beginning.
The next steps require patience and several returns:
- Rest again and talk for the third time - this time give 2 bottles of regular moonshine .
- After this, head to Blackrock Pass . You can get there via the air current opposite the Sanctum of Trials, past the blight that previously blocked the road.
- In the Pass, find Hilga's camp – Grom and Harvald are also there. Talk to Hilga and drink her potion (it will restore your health).
- Now you've met all the participants. Rest and talk to Grom at the camp.
- Return to Hilga three more times (resting between visits) to exhaust her dialogue options. If you'd like, you can climb into the cauldron—it adds a fun touch.
- Visit Gorf again – you'll find him under attack again. Interact with him and retrieve the poisoned dagger .
- Take the dagger to Hilga.
- Rest and return to Hilga's camp – a letter will appear there. Read it.
- Go back to Gorf – he's now recovering along with Hilga. Give him another bottle of moonshine .
- Take one last rest and return to the couple to complete the quest.
After you finish, be sure to talk to Hilga again—she'll share more details about her drink. What if you play??e on the lute in front of them, the frogs will start dancing - a nice bonus for Easter egg lovers.

## 3. Gragu – the path to a new shell

Gragu is a character who will eventually give you his shell if you help him. You'll first meet him in the One-Legged Wolf tavern, located west of the Mushroom Village luminary. Incidentally, you can also find a secondary weapon there— the Minstrel's Lute —so it's worth a visit.
Talk to Gragu several times until you've exhausted all dialogue options—he'll mention he's looking for the Heart of Vatra . To obtain it, head further west to the Temple of Vatra. At the very end of the temple, on the altar, lies the desired item.
Warning: Once you take the Heart, all the statues around you will come to life and attack you. Prepare for battle and fight your way back, defeating the stone enemies. Then return to the tavern and give the Heart to Grag. This will trigger a memory, and Grag's shell will become available for use.
Reward: a new shell and, of course, a sense of accomplishment.

## 4. Khmyr – a joke ending and moonshine

Khmyr's quest is the most unusual because it leads to a secret ending. This character can be found at Lifeless Peak , where he sits on a throne surrounded by his followers. You can get there via the air currents from the Citadel of Repentance or...? The Prophet's Shelter.
Algorithm of actions:
- Talk to Khmyr, then sit among his followers at his request.
- Wait a bit, get up and talk to him again – he will give you a strange task.
- Head to the entrance to the Illusionist's Cache (also on Lifeless Peak) and pick up the special moonshine that's lying on the table.
- Return to Khmyr with the bottle. He'll refuse to accept it, so return to the entrance to the stash and put the moonshine back.
- Talk to Khmyr again, this time empty-handed. When he asks if you brought anything, firmly answer that you didn't bring anything, and don't change your mind.
- After this, talk to Khmyr again - a secret ending with credits will start.
Important: After watching the comic ending, the game does not end – you can continue your playthrough from the same place, so don’t be afraid to experiment.

## 5. Vlas and his cat Barashek

Vlas's quest begins on the Path of Atonement – you'll find him near a wrecked cart, gravely wounded. The easiest way to reach him is by jumping from the bridge above. Talk to him, then examine the nearby cage – inside is a Coin of Mammon . Afterwards, rest and talk to Vlas again – he'll tell you that his cat, Barashok, has been kidnapped.
The next part is happening.Odit in the Lonely Spire . Get there by taking the elevator west of the "Gate of Mammon" luminary. You'll find a Caged Lamb in the bandit camp. Don't attack the bandits—trade with the local merchant first (you can buy an extra Glimmer from him).
Next steps:
- Take a rest and visit the bandits again – the merchant will have another Glow for sale.
- Approach the Sheep's cage and Vlas will appear nearby. Complete all dialogue options with him.
- Return to the entrance to the camp, go into the hut on the left and find a common key .
- Give the key to Vlas so he can open the cage.
- Head to the place where you first met Vlas—by the broken cart. There you'll find a letter he left behind.
- Return to the Bone Fortress – Vlas and Barashk will be standing on the way to Merrick's shop. Talk to them and receive another Coin of Mammon .
Warning: Before you free Vlas, be sure to buy everything you need from the bandit merchant - after completing the quest, he will disappear forever.

## 6. Sister Genessa – training and a new shell

Sister Genessa is one of the first NPCs you'll encounter in the Bone Fortress. Speak with her and complete the training trial—afterward, she'll give you the Infinite Seal , which you need to parry. Be sure to exhaust it.Listen to her dialogue, and after completing the first tower, visit her again – she'll say a few additional lines. If you talk to her in Thiel's shell, there will be a short scene.
The main part of the quest is connected to the Graves of the Dead – this area is located west of the Outskirts of Mammon and can be reached through the Sister's Cloister on the way to the Sister's Gate. In the Graves, find Sister's censer , surrounded by fragments of Genessa. Interact with the censer, and the boss Sister Secunda will appear. Defeat her, take the censer, and return to the Bone Fortress. Give the censer to Genessa, triggering a memory and unlocking Genessa's shell.
Reward: A powerful shell with unique abilities, ideal for those who enjoy an aggressive style.

## 7. Egon - a generous offering

Egon is located in Scourge's Keep . Getting there isn't easy—the path may require exploring several branches, but the local luminary serves as a landmark. Once you find Egon, speak with him several times until the offering option appears. Give him 10,000 units of Gloom .
Egon will thank you and soon die, but his body will leave behind over 36,000 Gloom . So, you not only get your investment back, but also a net profit. Completing this quest also unlocks access to "Feed Me" game.
I recommend making this offering even if you're not chasing achievements - darkness is never a bad thing, especially before the end.

## Conclusion – Are Side Quests Worth the Time?

As you can see, side quests in Mortal Shell 2 aren't just filler. They reward valuable items, unlock new shells, allow you to learn more about the world, and even experience a unique ending. Some of them (like Gorf and Hilga) require patience and multiple returns, but the rewards are worth it. My advice: don't neglect these quests, especially if you want to get the most out of the game and prepare for the final battles. Good luck on your adventures in the Void!
