# How to Fish Walkthrough: All Islands & Progression Guide

> 来源: https://www.whisperofthehouse.com/how-to-fish

## Quick Answer

How to Fish has 28 achievements.
The cleanest route is to finish the story first, collect the achievements tied to quests, upgrades, bosses, and newly unlocked systems, then return after the ending for the trick shots, gambling, cooking, and collection cleanup.
Several achievements combine naturally:
- burn and eat a mini-boss for Yummy in my tummy and Competitive eating ;
- bet a sufficiently valuable creature on green for All in and Rich! Millionaire ;
- use the post-game Spider Crab rematch for Easy ;
- lower the final boss with a gun, then land only the killing blow with bare hands for Handyman .
I keep Bean on a separate save. The shortcut to locked islands was removed in Patch 1.0.5, so a current attempt must follow the normal progression route and ignore everything optional.

## All 28 How to Fish achievements and requirements

I use the checklist to separate achievements that arrive through normal progression from the ones that need a deliberate setup.

### How to Fish Achievement Checklist

The checklist is especially useful after the ending. Instead of revisiting every island at random, I can identify whether the remaining achievement belongs to combat, cooking, gambling, equipment, collection, or a separate challenge run.

## The most efficient route to 100%

I divide the achievement run into three passes.

### First pass: finish the story

The first run should open every island, lure tier, shop, engine, weapon attachment, and boss encounter.
Getting started and Drip normally arrive almost immediately. A Drip creature has distinctive colors and a rainbow-style name, so I kill the first one I catch instead of saving it for the Reel of Fortune.
The main quest achievements follow the island progression:
- Who stole my beer comes from giving a Beer to the Lighthouse Keeper, using the Empty Beer Can to catch the Spider Crab, and returning its shell.
- Dinnertime requires finding three Leeches, exchanging them for the Giant Piranha bait, killing the boss, and taking its tail back to the woman in the forest.
- Grillmaster comes from bringing the requested Shark to the Grillmaster and then starting the unlocked grill.
- Vacation follows the Tourist, endangered creature, Carrot, and Pufferfish chain.
- Terrorizing bird , Deadliest catch , and We are so back arrive through the final two islands and ending route.
The main progression walkthrough covers the order of those hand-ins. When a particular boss is the blocker, I use the Boss Guide instead of repeating its entire fight here.
I also buy useful upgrades as they become relevant. That allows Getting an upgrade , I am speed , and Fully equipped to support the main run rather than becoming separate purchases later.

### Second pass: controlled cleanup

After the ending, I return with better weapons, more inventory space, and access to every island.
This is the best time to finish Noob , Impressive , 360 no scope , Easy , Let me go , Everyone's dream , I'm the bird now , Yummy in my tummy , Competitive eating , GOLD GOLD GOLD , All in , and Rich! Millionaire .
Most of these take only a controlled setup once I have enough money and the correct equipment. They become expensive when I attempt them during progression with weak weapons or irreplaceable items.

### Third pass: collections and challenge runs

I leave Collector and Fishipedia until every lure is available. I can then inspect the encyclopedia with Tab and target only the missing entries.
Bean gets its own timed save, while Handyman belongs on a final-boss attempt where the only changed condition is the killing blow.

## Noob, Impressive, and 360 no scope

These achievements all use the Killscore system, but they ask for very different finishing shots.

### Noob

For Noob , I need a kill with no Killscore multiplier.
I place an ordinary creature on flat ground and use normal body shots. I avoid a headshot, one-shot kill, point-blank finish, last-bullet kill, aerial target, or deliberate spin.
A lower-damage weapon helps because the first hit does not immediately turn the attempt into a one-shot bonus.

### Impressive

Impressive requires a final Killscore multiplier of at least 5x .
This can happen naturally in fights with several moving creatures, but I prefer a repeatable setup after the ending. A flying seagull lets me combine several conditions without spending a Boss Lure.
I equip a strong automatic or semi-automatic weapon with a laser sight, wait for a seagull to fly at some distance, and attempt a hip-fired headshot. The laser gives me a usable aiming point without aiming down sights, while a sufficiently powerful hit can combine headshot, one-shot, no-scope, flying-target, range, and overkill modifiers.
I do not use a progression boss for this. A missed seagull costs nothing, while a failed boss attempt can consume bait and several minutes.

### 360 no scope

The full rotation must lead directly into the killing shot.
I use a weak creature that will die in one hit, leave enough room to turn, complete the rotation, and fire from the hip without aiming down sights.
![360 no scope achievement unlocking from a finishing hip-fire shot in How to Fish](../media/c57367b694_0.webp)
A strong weapon against a weak creature leaves me free to concentrate on the rotation and finishing shot.
Doing a 360 earlier in the fight and killing the creature several shots later does not reliably count. On low mouse sensitivity, I can complete the rotation across more than one swipe as long as I do not fire before the full turn is finished.

## Grillmaster, Yummy in my tummy, and Competitive eating

The cooking achievements become much easier once the Island 3 grill is available.

### Grillmaster

The Grillmaster asks for a Shark. I buy a Standard Boss Lure , catch and kill the Blue Shark, and bring it back to him.
Returning the Shark unlocks access to the grill, but the achievement requirement is Start the grill . I interact with the grill once after completing the hand-in rather than leaving as soon as the Shark is accepted.
![Grillmaster allowing the player to start the grill after completing the Shark re](../media/c57367b694_1.webp)
This dialogue confirms that the Shark hand-in is complete and the grill is available. I still interact with the grill once to unlock Grillmaster.

### Yummy in my tummy and Competitive eating

These two achievements can be completed with the same creature.
I buy the inexpensive Beginner Boss Lure , kill its repeatable mini-boss, and take the body to a normal grill. While holding it over the heat, I inspect it and wait until the cooking multiplier falls to zero and the creature becomes completely black.
I then eat it.
Because the meal is both burnt and a mini-boss, this unlocks Yummy in my tummy and Competitive eating together.
The Volcano lava is useful for reaching the normal cooked value quickly, but it does not continue into the fully burnt state required by Yummy in my tummy . I use an ordinary grill for this attempt.
I also avoid using a quest trophy or story boss drop. The Beginner Boss Lure is replaceable if the cooking attempt goes wrong.

## GOLD GOLD GOLD, All in, and Rich! Millionaire

The two casino machines have different requirements. The Reel of Fortune consumes Drip creatures for cosmetic rolls, while roulette accepts items as bets.

### GOLD GOLD GOLD

Every Reel of Fortune attempt consumes one Drip creature .
The reward can belong to a weapon I do not yet own, and the machine can also produce boat cosmetics. I therefore do not try to equip a particular weapon before rolling.
I continue feeding Drip creatures into the machine until it produces any Legendary skin.
![Legendary gold skin unlocked from the Reel of Fortune in How to Fish](../media/c57367b694_2.webp)
The result is random, so I stop as soon as one Legendary skin registers.
Drip creatures respawn, which means a failed roll does not permanently block Fishipedia. I still leave serious gambling until after progression so I am not hunting replacements while trying to reach the next island.

### All in and Rich! Millionaire

All in requires winning a roulette bet on green. Rich! Millionaire requires selling one item worth at least 100,000 ; holding 100,000 cash is not enough.
Green pays 35 times the value of the bet item. To receive an item worth at least 100,000, the item placed on green must therefore be worth at least:
100,000 ÷ 35 = 2,857.15
I use an inspected value of 2,858 or higher , although aiming for approximately 3,200 gives me a safer margin.
My cleanup loop is:
- Catch valuable creatures using late-game lures.
- Cook them to increase their displayed value.
- Inspect each creature before betting.
- Sell anything below the threshold normally.
- Put only qualifying, replaceable creatures on green.
- When green wins, sell the resulting item for 100,000 or more.
![Winning a green roulette bet for the All in achievement in How to Fish](../media/c57367b694_3.webp)
A sufficiently valuable green bet can complete All in and create the 100,000-value item needed for Rich! Millionaire.
Green is still random, so I may need several qualifying creatures. I never use a boss trophy that is still needed for a quest or island unlock.

## Getting an upgrade, Fully equipped, and I am speed

I treat these as progression purchases rather than isolated achievement costs.
Getting an upgrade unlocks when I buy an engine improvement for the boat. I take the first affordable upgrade once travel time starts slowing down the run.
For Fully equipped , all attachments must be installed on one weapon. The four slots are:
- extended magazine;
- laser sight;
- red dot or sniper scope;
- compensator or suppressor.
I build one weapon completely instead of scattering attachments across several guns. A fully equipped late-game weapon also prepares me for Easy , Handyman , and the final bosses.
I am speed requires the best boat engine. I save it until the combat build is stable, then buy it before repeated collection and casino trips. At that point the faster travel also reduces the time spent on the remaining achievements.

## Seagulls, Dynamite, and the flying boat

The unusual physics achievements become manageable once the trigger is understood.

### Let me go

I do not wait for a living character to be grabbed.
I die outdoors and leave the respawn prompt untouched. After a short wait, a seagull flies down and carries the body away, unlocking Let me go .
If I need to force the setup, I use Dynamite to kill myself in an open area and then do nothing.
![Let me go achievement unlocking after a seagull carries away the player's body i](../media/c57367b694_4.webp)
I stay on the death screen instead of pressing respawn and let the seagull complete the pickup.

### Everyone's dream

This achievement requires killing a seagull with Dynamite.
Throwing Dynamite directly at a moving bird is unreliable. I place a disposable fish on open ground and group several bundles of Dynamite beside it. A single explosion can damage a seagull without killing it, so a small cluster produces a more dependable blast.
I back away, wait for a seagull to descend, and shoot the Dynamite to detonate it remotely.
A cheap shotgun works well for the trigger shot. I fire from the hip so aim assist is less likely to pull the shot toward the bird or fish instead of the explosive.
I keep the setup away from water and move any valuable equipment out of the blast area. The explosion can scatter bait, creatures, and weapons far enough to make another attempt unnecessarily awkward.

### I'm the bird now

A small flip is not always enough for I'm the bird now .
A few bundles underneath the boat may make it roll or bounce without reaching the height required for the achievement. I leave the boat floating in the water and place several bundles of Dynamite inside it or tightly underneath the hull.
Before detonating them, I remove my weapons and other valuable items from the boat. Anything left inside can be launched far into the ocean with it.
![Boat launched high into the air with several bundles of Dynamite for the I'm the](../media/c57367b694_5.webp)
Several explosives concentrated around the floating boat produce a higher launch than a small blast that only flips it.
Once the combined explosion sends the boat clearly into the air, the achievement registers. The boat can bounce a long distance, but it normally works its way back toward shore, so I do not reload immediately.

## Easy: defeat a familiar boss within 10 seconds

The post-game Spider Crab is the most convenient target for Easy .
I return to the Lighthouse with a strong, fully upgraded weapon, repeat the Beer and Empty Beer Can setup, and prepare before casting the bait. Once the Spider Crab appears, I begin firing immediately and keep all damage focused on it.
This avoids the long openings, extra enemies, and large health pools of later bosses.
If the Spider Crab still survives beyond ten seconds, I stop spending bait and improve the weapon first. A full magazine, strong damage upgrades, and all four attachment slots are more useful than trying to rescue a weak attempt with inventory changes after the boss has already spawned.

## Collector and Fishipedia track different collections

I leave both collection achievements until every lure tier and optional Boss Lure is available.
Collector requires every normal creature.
Fishipedia requires the Drip variant of every creature.
A completed normal entry does not complete its Drip entry, and spending a Drip creature at the Reel of Fortune does not erase the encyclopedia record.
I open the encyclopedia with Tab and work only on the empty entries.
For ordinary catches, the equipped lure determines the available creature pool; I do not need to return to a particular island for every normal fish. This means much of the cleanup can be done from one convenient late-game fishing spot.
Bosses and quest-triggered creatures still need their corresponding lure or progression trigger. The All 49 Creatures guide matches the missing encyclopedia entries to the required lure, Boss Lure, or story condition.
For Fishipedia , I repeat the correct lure pool until its missing Drip variant appears. Drip creatures are visually obvious and continue to respawn, so this achievement is a rarity grind rather than a permanently missable collection.

### Cycle catches without fully reeling in every normal result

When I am hunting one missing Drip variant, I cast as far as possible and watch the creature notification while reeling.
If the result is not Drip, I immediately use the cancel or release input and begin reeling again. With clean timing, one cast can cycle through several candidates before I need to make another full cast.
I slow down as soon as a Drip name appears. Cancelling by habit can release the exact variant I need.
Aggressive creatures also require caution. Releasing a Tiger Fish does not always remove the threat; it may still leave the water and attack while I am concentrating on the next catch.
This method is most useful when I already know the correct lure and only need its rare Drip result. It does not replace selecting the right lure pool in the first place.

## Bean on the normal progression route

Bean requires finishing the game in less than one hour.
I use a separate save and treat every optional activity as lost time. Collector, Fishipedia, the Grillmaster, casino rolls, cosmetics, unnecessary engine upgrades, and achievement trick shots stay on the normal save.
Patch 1.0.5 fixed the bug that allowed players to reach locked islands before unlocking them.
A current Bean run must complete the normal island progression. Patch 1.0.9 added Easy difficulty, which reduces creature health by 25% and their damage by 50%, making it the sensible setting for a timed attempt.
I prefer a solo run because navigation, purchases, quest items, and boss finishes stay under my control. Co-op can provide more damage and revives, but coordination time can erase that advantage.

### Lighthouse

I buy only the weapon and Beer needed to reach the Spider Crab quickly. After giving the Beer to the Lighthouse Keeper, I use the Empty Beer Can, dodge the charge, attack during the stun, and return the shell for the Boat Keys.

### Forest

I buy an affordable ranged weapon and enough inventory space to carry healing creatures. I collect the three Leeches, exchange them for bait, kill the Giant Piranha, and immediately return its tail.
The spawned piranhas can become emergency healing during the fight, but I do not remain behind to farm them.

### Vacation island

This is where I establish the SMG as the main speedrun weapon. Bullet damage and an extended magazine matter more than buying several different guns.
I skip the Grillmaster and Blue Shark completely. I catch one valid endangered creature, give it to the Tourist, and use the Carrot to defeat the Pufferfish.
The Endangered Fish guide identifies the valid catches, while the Pufferfish guide covers the poison phase if that fight is costing runs.

### Rocky island

I improve the SMG, buy the Professional Boss Lure, catch the Tuna, and use it to trigger the Terrorizing Bird.
I fight near a building so I can step inside during dangerous attacks instead of spending time recovering from deaths. I use normal weapon damage rather than building a large Dynamite trap that may fail if the bird passes outside the effective blast.
As soon as the bird is dead and the progression item is secured, I leave for the Volcano.

### Volcano

I use late-game creatures and lava cooking to fund the remaining weapon upgrades. I gather the creatures required by the Scientist, obtain the Whale bait, defeat the Bowhead Whale, and move directly into the Mutated Bowhead Whale sequence.
The final encounters decide the run. I enter them with a complete damage setup and every remaining inventory slot filled with healing food. Finishing the boss is not the final input, so I also leave enough time for the last hand-in, vehicle, and ending sequence.
I restart attempts that lose several minutes in the early islands. It is better to abandon a bad Forest or Pufferfish split than continue for another forty minutes with no realistic margin.

## Handyman only requires a bare-hands killing blow

Handyman does not require fighting the entire final boss without a weapon.
I use my normal ranged build to reduce the Mutated Bowhead Whale to a very small amount of health. When the bar is nearly empty, I switch from the fully upgraded assault rifle to a weaker pistol for the final health adjustment.
The weaker shot gives me more control over the last visible sliver and reduces the chance of accidentally killing the boss with the assault rifle.
I then stop firing, fully unequip the weapon, move in, and land the final hit with bare hands. Brass knuckles do not count.
The fight becomes much safer if I prepare healing creatures around the arena before triggering the Mutated Bowhead Whale. I spread them out instead of leaving one pile that can be scattered, stolen, or covered by fire.
In co-op, I designate one player as the puncher before the final damage phase. Everyone else stops attacking when the health bar is low and keeps the boss occupied while the designated player lands the finishing hit.
If the final encounter itself is still inconsistent, I use the Mutated Bowhead Whale strategy first. Handyman becomes manageable once the only unfamiliar part is the final punch.

## Find the missing system before repeating the game

When only one or two achievements remain, I check their category before doing anything else.
A missing quest achievement usually means I killed a boss but did not return its trophy to the correct NPC. A Killscore achievement needs a specific finishing shot, while a cooking achievement requires the normal grill and the correct final food state.
Casino achievements need replaceable items rather than more story progress. Collector and Fishipedia should be checked against the actual empty encyclopedia slots, not memory. Bean belongs on its dedicated timed save, and Handyman belongs at the final boss rather than in a full bare-hands playthrough.
That diagnosis prevents the longest form of wasted time: replaying islands, bosses, fishing pools, and casino machines that cannot produce the achievement I am missing.
